Born and educated in India , surrounded by colour and beauty, I initially expressed awareness of this in embroidery.
On arrival to England I worked in banking, teaching and free-lanced for an Art needlework Magazine. I did most of the drawings for an encyclopaedia of needlework.
As Magazine editor for 27 years, I designed garments, arrange photographic sessions worldwide, and developed the notion of creative knitting and other forms of needlework. I also wrote and illustrated books on needlework, using my own designs, now my drawings are being copied.
Although I have painted over the years, it was not till I retired that I developed as a painter. I have painted in India , Alaska , Great Britain , the United States , New Zealand , Australia , Japan and Ireland .
My paintings vary in size and in different mediums.
I have sold my paintings, jewellery, silk paintings, and jewelled fruit, at Art Alresford Gallery and at Valerie Charlton Gallery.
My work is in collections worldwide.
